About This Cause

As a membership-based organization, Padilla Bay Foundation (PBF) raises funds to support the Padilla Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve above and beyond their federal and state funding allocations. Your financial and volunteer support of PBF provides marine science internships; marine research equipment; science education programs and materials; and the educational displays and aquariums, including the new touch pool, housed in the Reserve's interpretive center. As a 501(c)3, PBF can receive and administer grants available only to non-profit organizations, which in turn are used to support additional education and research activities of the Reserve. With your continued help as part of a dedicated community of supporters, the PBF Board and the Reserve staff continue to bring to the Reserve education (such as climate change curriculum for public schools); research (such as summer seasonal graduate school assistants); and facility upgrades (such as the new touch pool and an audio-visual system in the main classroom). The Padilla Bay Foundation has earned the Platinum GuideStar Nonprofit Profile Seal of Transparency for 2022-2023, the highest level of recognition offered by Guidestar, the world’s largest source of information on nonprofit organizations.
