Mission Statement

Drinking for Conservation raises funds for endangered species by hosting events at bars that agree to donate a portion of an evening's proceeds. Our job is to get as many people to the establishment as possible, so everyone can get "Tipsy for Tigers" or "Rowdy for Rhinos." Drinking for Conservation: Saving the World, One Sip at a Time

About This Cause

Drinking for Conservation (a committee of the Point Defiance chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers) raises money for endangered species and conservation efforts by partnering with bars, breweries, or restaurants. We host events such as "Cocktails for Condors," "Tanked for Tortoises" and "Sloshed for Seahorses," where a portion of the establishment's proceeds for the evening is donated toward conservation. Our goal is to raise awareness of environmental issues and endangered species, while raising funds for these causes. Through Drinking for Conservation, patrons at the bars can be part of the solution and feel extra good about enjoying their night out. Not many people set aside money for conservation, but many people budget for entertainment. Drinking for Conservation taps into this resource in a non-invasive, fun way.
