Mission Statement
IDEA exists to elevate and empower the artistic, intellectual, and economic ideas, works, and ventures of women and youth.
About This Cause
IDEA delivers on its mission through the following programs. 1) Activate: IDEA creates a space for thought leadership to emerge in youth through contests, the annual PO1 series, publishing support, and various social media avenues such as podcasts and blogs. 2) Formation: Individuals receive a one year fellowship that includes a stipend to work on a novel concept in an area traditionally unrepresented by minorities to develop a work of art, academic work, or new business venture. If successful, they work with coaches who walk them through the ideation and proof of concept stages in ideate. 3) Ideate: participants are able to develop concepts with the help of skilled coaches from ideation to proof of concept. 4) Mobilization: Participants and alumni take part in an active community and network of resource sharing, ongoing development, and coaching.
