About This Cause

Women Helping Women Fund (WHWF) supports innovative and sustainable programs serving women and children in Spokane, WA. Each program that receives funds from WHWF is carefully screened to ensure the greatest needs of the community are being met. Grant applicants are required to submit financial statements and host a site visit for members of the board of directors. Over the past 30 years WHWF has provided over $6 million in grants to benefit women and children. The organization's primary fundraiser, a luncheon in May, is the largest plated event in Spokane averaging 1800 guests per year. Dollars raised at the event – typically $250,000-300,000 – goes toward programs in Spokane County. In 2020, WHWF launched a collective giving community that helps members to magnify their impact and take an active role in local philanthropy while improving the lives of women and children in Spokane County. Members support the grants pool financially, learn about the issues, see the work in action, and help make funding decisions. To learn more, visit whwfspokane.org/give-together.
