Mission Statement

Whidbey Watershed Stewards promotes near-shore and watershed health by linking water, land, wildlife, and people on Whidbey Island through education, research, and restoration.

About This Cause

Whidbey Watershed Stewards is a non-profit organization which fosters environmental responsibility, education, research, and restoration. We offer educational classes at the Maxwelton Outdoor Classroom for K-5 students and Service-Learning opportunities for 6-12 students, as well as educational events for adults and families. As educators we engage the community with experiences at the Outdoor Classroom, public presentations, habitat surveys, restoration work parties, and more. Through stewardship we educate. Through education we create environmental stewards. We are always looking for more ways to inspire and educate. As habitat restoration advocates, we proactively and holistically conserve and protect our watersheds to ensure improved water quality, salmon recovery, and overall ecosystem health.
