Mission Statement
The mission of the Spokane County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Program, SCBA VLP, is to connect low-income community members needing legal services to volunteer lawyers and to provide legal education.
About This Cause
The Spokane County Bar Association launched the nonprofit Volunteer Lawyers Program, VLP, in 1985 to meet the growing demand for civil legal aid for low-income residents in Spokane County. Since that time, the VLP has steadily recruited volunteer attorneys to help meet the legal needs of over 10,000 people per year. The VLP continues to evolve to ensure low-income community members, including those with the greatest barriers have access to civil legal aid.
