Mission Statement
The Olympia Union Gospel Mission exists as an Evangelical Christian Rescue Mission, serving Thurston County, Washington to share the good news of new life in Jesus Christ by meeting the mental, physical and spiritual needs of individuals in crisis.
About This Cause
The Mission carries out its ministry through five primary service lines. 1. Meeting basic needs: Hot meals served daily (105,000 / year), showers, laundry, clothing bank, counseling, financial assistance with critical bills (e.g. power shut off notices). 2. Spiritual services: chapel and church services, bible studies and one-on-one discipleship. 3. Life Transformation: goal oriented residential shelter and up to two year residential drug and alcohol recovery services for single men and women as well as women with children. 4. Health Care: Emergent dental care (1,800 visits / year) and vision care (800 visits / year). 5. "Veg Out:" Delivery of fresh fruits and vegetables, plus other food items, to low income children (500 plus) and low income seniors (150 plus).
