Mission Statement
Jet City Improv’s mission is to educate, enlighten, and entertain through the art of improvisation. We build community, foster creativity, and amplify underrepresented voices through live performance, training, and outreach.
About This Cause
Jet City Improv is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to the transformative power of improvisation. Since 1992, we’ve created original, unscripted theater that brings people together through laughter, spontaneity, and shared creativity. Our programming spans two theaters and includes year-round performances, improv classes for all experience levels, and robust community outreach. We offer everything from fast-paced comedy shows and full-length improvised plays to experimental new works, student showcases, and monthly all-ages jams. Our education program provides a welcoming space for beginners and professionals alike, with a focus on confidence, collaboration, and communication. We also partner with schools, detention centers, shelters, and nonprofits to bring free improv workshops to youth and communities who need it most. As one of the few improv theaters in the country that pays its artists, Jet City is committed to sustainability and equity in the arts. We actively center AAPI, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and disabled performers in our work and prioritize affordability through pay-what-you-can nights, scholarships, and community-driven programming. Jet City Improv is where spontaneous joy, creative collaboration, and meaningful connection come together—on stage, in classrooms, and throughout the community.
