Mission Statement

FamilyWorks connects neighbors and families to nourishing food, essential resources, and a supportive community, so people can build resiliency to meet life’s challenges. FamilyWorks advocates with dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.

About This Cause

FamilyWorks, a food bank and resource center in Seattle, can find healthy, fresh food and parenting or life-skills resources to increase their resiliency through the support of a caring community. Over 30,000 visits are made to the food bank each year and we make 2640 deliveries of groceries to seniors in the community. A WIC nutritionist is on site at the Resource Center weekly for additional nutritional support. Other resources at the center include: free children's clothing, toys, books, diapers, and parenting education and support available through classes and parent/child playgroups. Playgroups are held in Spanish, Japanese and English. Community Connectors help to connect people with other resources that they need for themselves and their families in a supportive environment. We rely on over 300 volunteers each year to support our operations. Thank you for helping build resiliency in our community!
