The mission of Serve the Children is to offer hope and a future to underserved children and families around the world by meeting their educational, physical and emotional needs.
About This Cause
For over 25 years, Serve the Children has been meeting the educational, physical and emotional needs for children and families around the world. Serve the Children was founded to give opportunity to children without access to an education. Poor and underserved, they are vulnerable to malnutrition, disease, child labor, and a lifetime of poverty. Without the hope an education provides, they have little chance to rise above the hard circumstances of their lives. Serve the Children meets this need by supporting local initiatives to provide education. We began in 1997 by opening our first school in Liberia, West Africa, serving former child soldiers. Through partnership, we provided 125 children with an alternative to fighting through free education, food, and counseling. Over the years we have continued our efforts in Liberia and grown to serve children in India, Zambia and other countries. Our passion is to come alongside in-country leadership to provide children with safe and quality education, giving them hope and a future. Our projects provide safety, quality education and ensure longevity. Projects include vocational training school, community education centers, preschool and grade schools, building renovations, new desks and supplies, sustainable pig farming, after school computer program, and drilling for clean water. The children and youth of Liberia, India and Zambia are eager and ready. Each has a dream to be something greater than the poverty they see around them. Our objective in providing quality education is to equip them to fulfill that dream.
