The Community responds to the Gospel's vision of full development for every individual at each life stage. The Community seeks to ensure the dignity, independence, well-being and security of older persons through the provision of a range of services and educational options. An array of services enriches the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of each resident, employee and all others affiliated with the Community. Rooted in Catholic, ethical values, the Community is characterized by a commitment to: an environment of beauty, a celebration of life, hospitality and compassion, reverence and integrity, a spirit of service and the exploration of the journey of aging.
About This Cause
Background: Established in 1997 and opened in 2001 as a ministry of the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Mary's Woods is open to all individuals regardless of faith tradition. Who We Are: We currently have a resident population of approximately 750 individuals. Age eligibility for entry is limited to those 62 years of age or older. The vast majority of Mary's Woods residents live independently in apartments and villa homes. As part of our continuing care commitment, 150 residents are supported through higher levels of service through assisted living, long-term residential care and memory care neighborhoods. What We Do: Mary's Woods provides an array of programming and services to its resident population. These services include: independent and supported housing; health care support through Kellogg Assisted Living, the Marie Rose Health Care Center and Nurse's Clinic, wellness programming, educational, social and cultural activities and spiritual care. Additionally, Mary's Woods offers programming to non-residents living in the surrounding community including but not limited to: musical concerts, talks, art displays. A full array of support services is made possible through the work of 400 team members. Teams are led by the work of the Executive Leadership Team which includes the CEO, COO, CFO, CMCO and Director team. Work is centered on fitness and wellness, food and beverage, environmental services, assisted Living and long-term care support, communications, marketing and sales, technology, finance, transportation, resident relations and community life, philanthropy, spiritual care, and human resources. Mary's Woods accepts charitable contributions for five funds: (1) Resident Assistance, (2) Employee Education, (3) Programming, Innovation and Outreach, (4) Capital Projects and Improvements and (5) Greatest Need. These funds help us serve our mission. For example, the Resident Assistance Fund helps residents who, through no fault of their own, face difficulties meeting their basic monthly costs. In these instances, the fund serves as a safety net. Knowing the Resident assistance fund is there to help when needed provides the community with a profound sense of security.
