Provides free food via three free food trucks in the greater Seattle area to address food insecurity for the general population specifically focused on homeless, students etc.
About This Cause
NW Share is a broad based charity with the following project: 1. First it operates two FREE food trucks in Seattle and has distributed over 177,000 plates of fresh food since 2018. Our mission focuses on supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, students, and those most vulnerable to food insecurity in our community. We emphasize treating everyone like family, ensuring that each meal includes a minimum of five cooked preparations. Meals should embrace you like family, not feel like a handout. NW Share's food trucks serve 45,000+ plates/year of hot, nutritious meals. We rely on your support to keep this vital program running and to expand our impact. The annual operating cost for our two food trucks is approximately $130,000, and we are actively working to grow our operations. By the Numbers: - 177,000+ plates distributed since 2018 - 45,000+ plates served annually - 100% Volunteer Run by 110+ dedicated volunteers - We travel 14,000+ miles each year, distributing free food across the Pacific Northwest 2. The second project is Cow protection. Normally cows are slaughtered after milking age and our goal is to shelter them till natural death. Two farms are in place. The first farm in Redmond, WA and the second one in Arlington, WA, both sheltering 40 cows. 3. The Third project is Arts and culture in collaboration with Cities of Seattle, Redmond, Issaquah, Bellevue, etc. Every year 4-5 festivals such as Anandamela are organized serving over 10,000 visitors. 4. The fourth project is a holistic education school where we train over 100 kids in holistic living in addition to State of Washington mandated curriculum. We are proud to have received several grants from the City of Seattle's Department of Neighborhoods in recognition of our efforts to promote race relations and community support.
