About This Cause
Central District Forum for Arts & Ideas was formed in 1999. It serves a broad range of communities: artists, audience members, volunteers, donors, academics, students, writers and many others. They are curious and open to new perspectives presented through the lens of the Black experience. Our constituents are diverse economically, culturally and geographically. We present artists who are creating contemporary work that is innovative and distinctive, emerging or under-recognized as well as established, and who reflect the breadth of styles within Black/African Diaspora culture.
