Mission Statement
The Healing Center is a grief-support community for adults, children and families. Our community offers a unique, long-term, multi-faceted approach to grief support, combining individual and group support with informal events and social networks.
About This Cause
Our Mission The Healing Center offers a safe place that honors and normalizes grief, providing hope, learning, and support. Our Work We offer support groups for children, young adults, adults, and seniors after the death of someone profoundly important to their life and identity. We create a space where clients can candidly share and be supported by others who 'get it'. We do this by bringing folks together with parallel grief experiences, organizing our groups around client age, type of loss, or intensity of grief. Each group is led by a licensed therapist or trained facilitator, ensuring every session is meaningful, supportive, and appropriate for all clients. Unlike other programs, our support groups have an open model, meaning clients can join at any time and remain enrolled as long as they see fit. Our Philosophy We believe grief is universal. Loss is part of every life, and that means grief is too. We believe grief is unique. There are no benchmarks, timelines, or stages. Each grief journey is as unique as the person experiencing it. We believe in the power of community. When we share our grief together, we make space for profound connection and support. We believe in meeting people where they are. Grief has no right or wrong intensity, duration, or emotional experiences. We believe grief is ongoing. Grief changes over time but doesn't disappear. People can adapt to live healthy, meaningful lives alongside their grief.
