Seattle Polish Foundation is a non-profit organization that promotes Polish heritage in the Pacific Northwest by sponsoring local events involving Polish culture and arts, by taking part in events important to the Polish-American community and by assisting Polish - American organizations in the area. PHF is a public 501(c)(3) charity.

About This Cause

Seattle Polish Foundation is the main Polish-American charity in the Seattle area and Washington State. It serves as a charity and fundraising arm for the Polish Home - the Polish Cultural Center in Seattle as well as for other local Polish-American organizations. It partners frequently with other organizations when staging or sponsoring events promoting Polish culture and language to the general public in our area. SPF is an all-volunteer organization. Polish Home Foundation Programs Polish Festival at the Seattle Center. This is an annual festival celebrating Polish culture and traditions in a festive atmosphere. Established in 2012, the Festival is currently a part of the Seattle Center ethnic festival lineup called Festal. The Festival highlights include arts & history exhibitions, piano and jazz concerts, performances by modern dance and singing groups and by Polish folk groups. Workshops present Polish crafts and culinary know-how and of course there is plenty of delicious Polish food and beer. Please check it out! To learn more please visit www.PolishFestivalSeattle.org. Yearly Pierogi Fest at the Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski / Polish Home. This event is a very popular ethnic festival that provides both a great food and a cultural program. The main attraction has been the pierogi (Polish dumplings) extravaganza with a wide variety of this delicious dish, but you can also get other Polish favorites from bigos (hunter's stew) to pork roast. The cultural program includes Polish folk group performances, workshops such as the art of Polish cutouts or how to make pierogi as well as children activities. More info here http://polishnewsseattle.org/2015/May15.htm Yearly Fundraising Campaign for the Polish Home The Polish Home - the Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski in Seattle on Capitol Hill - has been serving Polish-Americans and the general public since 1918. The Polish Home Foundation fundraising is a crucial part in funding the diverse needs of the Polish cultural center, from arts and culture presentations to community events. Recent Successes and Current Challenges Recent successes include staging of the very successful Polish festivals in Seattle - Polish Festival at the Seattle Center and Pierogi Fest at the Polish Cultural Center Dom Polski in Seattle. Please see a separate description of these events. The construction of the new wing of the Polish Home in Seattle 2008-2010 was also a big success important to all Polish-Americans of the Pacific Northwest. The PHF Fundraising Committee raised bulk of the funds for this project with total value over $750,000. A Trip to Nowhere, a documentary movie and an exhibition about Polish survivors of Soviet WWII deportations to Siberia, is a project completed in 2009 and sponsored in significant part by PHF. PHF seeks funding and volunteers to help with events and programs supported by PHF. The biggest of these are the festivals produced or supported by PHF.
