Mission Statement
ChildStrive builds on the relationships, strengths, and unique abilities of young children and their families by fostering social, emotional, and physical well-being so all children can flourish.
About This Cause
ChildStrive (formerly named "Little Red School House") is committed to supporting families from pregnancy through preschool. Our two-generation, trauma-informed approach provides parents and caregivers the skills and resources they need to make sure their children have the support needed to thrive. One of ChildStrive's core values is ALL children and their families should receive the supportive services they need to reach their full potential. Thanks to the help of our community of supporters, we provide families access to our array of high-quality services, regardless of the families' ability to pay. ChildStrive has been serving families in the Puget Sound area since 1963 (then under the name "Little Red School House"). Today we serve more than 4,000 children each year across Snohomish and King Counties through our array of programs. The majority of our programs are offered in the home, which research has shown has the best outcomes for family success as parents and children are learning skills in their natural living environment. ChildStrive's Programs include: Early Intervention Services (children ages 0 - 3 with a developmental delay or disability and their parents work with specialists in occupational & physical therapy, speech, feeding, and behavioral therapists to gain skills needed so the child can reach their highest potential) Nurse Family Partnerships (Nurses partner with first time mothers, typically young single mothers, from 28 weeks gestation through baby's second birthday to mom the support she needs to build a strong bond and foundation for success) Parents as Teachers (families with young children up to 5 years old partner with a parent educator to address parent questions, behavioral concerns, assist in gaps in resources to assure the family is safe and stable) Clever Sprouts Preschool (an ECEAP affiliated program providing high-quality preschool at no cost to families that have very low incomes) Family and Community Services (providing supportive services to families, including counseling and assisting in access to resources) Contact us with any questions or to join us for a tour!
