Mission Statement
To provide client-centered quality residential (rehabilitation) treatment services to adults who are chemically dependent and individuals with co-occurring disorders from all regions of Alaska.
About This Cause
AARS serves adults living with substance use disorder. Our treatment program includes individual, family and group counseling, a unique farm and work-based focus, and frequent recreational, vocational, and educational opportunities. Daily attendance at AA/NA meetings helps clients develop a healthy network of recovery — and support. AARS recognizes that in order for a rehabilitative program to be effective, scheduled activities must be designed that support and enhance client change. Therefore, AARS is committed to providing client-centered services 24/7 that supports the recovery, health, and well-being of the persons served — and their families. Our program is aimed at enhancing the quality of life of the persons served, build resilience, restore, and improve functioning and support the client’s integration back into the community. Such activities will be based and designed on established best treatment practices. Every effort is made by staff to empower clients in their recovery efforts. Once a client is admitted into AARS, a customized treatment plan is created based on individual client’s needs. The treatment program is a finely balanced program that incorporates the 12-Step recovery philosophy of AA/NA, the search for personal spirituality (reconnecting with important people and activities in one’s life), and the development of a healthier self-concept that supports sober living. Each component is supported through the client’s treatment plan and all services are available to all clients. AARS treatment program components include: • 12-step meetings and participation • Individual and group sessions • Meditation, study, reflection, and writing • Learning, information gathering and development • Community responsibilities/ work therapy • Recreation therapy • Mental and spiritual health • Aftercare and transitioning
