Mission Statement

The mission of Abura Kids International Inc., is to collaborate with its sister organization, Abura Kids Ghana, Inc. by providing funding to build a school focused on early childhood education as well as other community improvement projects in Ghana, West Africa.

About This Cause

The vision of Abura Kids International, Inc. is to give the children of Ghana the courage and confidence to hope by giving them access to quality early childhood education to help them achieve the best possible version of themselves. When you have hope, you have the belief that what you are seeking is possible. The belief that you can obtain something can be even more important, more powerful than actually obtaining the thing you seek. The resulting belief or confidence promotes a growth mindset which activates various areas of your life in a positive way. Without that belief, confidence, or that hope, life is a little less joyful. The strategies needed to meet our mission and vision must entail purposeful, meaningful, and targeted instruction of teachers as well as our scholars. Once training has been initiated and remains ongoing, access to resources is crucial to implement theory into action. Resources can be broken down into two sub-categories. Resources for teachers to improve their sense of self-efficacy and competence as educators which will invariably positively impact their teaching practice. Resources for scholars in order to promote critical thinking and self-directed learning with real world applications with the goal of being global citizens. The outcome will be improved teacher agency which will lead to improved scholar agency. That is the meaning behind Abura Kids International Inc. We want to make the lives of children in Ghana, beginning in the community of Suhum, a little more joyful by giving them the courage and confidence to hope. In addition to a school focused on Early Childhood Education other community improvement projects are being planned in order to improve lives and give hope. Drilling of bore holes (wells) to access clean water and a clinic for wellness visits for children and treatment of non-life threatening illnesses. A mobile library on Wheels that will travel to various neighborhoods on the weekends to give children access to books. During the library experience children will engage in learning activities to improve their reading, writing, and speaking ability as well as promote critical thinking across various genres. Organic cooperative farming will give members of the community access to healthy eating and a source of income. Members will be given training and assistance in the various stages of the value added chain of their farm produce. Projects that have started: 1. Rebecca Rose International School 2.
