About This Cause
Miles Above Mission Awareness (M.A.M.A.) Miles Above Mission Awareness (M.A.M.A.) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the health, safety, growth, and development of underserved communities. Our mission is to provide comprehensive services that address essential needs, support family stability, and foster community resilience through a variety of targeted programs. Project 1: Community Development Center M.A.M.A.'s Community Development Center focuses on providing affordable youth development programs, including after-school care, tutoring, recreational activities, and fitness initiatives. We also offer parenting classes and support resources for low-income families, helping them access vital services to overcome barriers related to housing, education, and daily essentials. This center is dedicated to supporting families in need, ensuring children and parents receive the tools they need for stability and growth. Project 2: Mobile Services M.A.M.A. operates a Mobile Services program to meet the needs of seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families in underserved areas. The service includes doorstep food pantry deliveries, transportation for program participants, and assistance with community essentials like hygiene products. The mobile units also partner with local schools to provide volunteer services and STEM program showcases. Donations help fund the purchase of larger vehicles, transportation insurance, and expansion of service offerings. Project 3: Emergency Assistance & Shelter In response to extreme weather conditions, M.A.M.A. offers emergency shelter and relief services in Texas, providing temporary shelter, bedding, meals, and essential supplies. This program supports homeless seniors, families, and individuals with special needs, ensuring they receive care and compassion in their time of need. Funds raised for this project will help build a secondary facility, maintain operations, and keep supplies replenished. Additional Programs: Housing Assistance & Stability M.A.M.A. assists families struggling with housing instability, offering resources for affordable housing, financial counseling, and eviction prevention services. Our goal is to ensure that families can maintain safe, stable homes. Youth & Children’s Programs Our programs focus on youth empowerment, providing after-school activities, tutoring, fitness, health education, and recreational opportunities. These programs encourage children to stay active, engaged in their education, and prepared for future success. Hunger Relief In addition to our mobile food pantry, M.A.M.A. works to alleviate food insecurity by partnering with local food banks and organizing community meal events to feed low-income families and individuals. Senior Support Services M.A.M.A. offers specialized services for seniors, including transportation, wellness checks, and access to community resources that promote aging in place with dignity. Disaster Relief In times of natural disaster or community crises, M.A.M.A. provides immediate relief including food, shelter, and emergency supplies to affected families, with a focus on vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and individuals with disabilities. Community Development & Science Programs M.A.M.A. is committed to enhancing community engagement through development projects that include local leadership training, job readiness programs, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education initiatives for youth. Recreational & Health Programs We offer fitness and health programs designed to improve physical well-being and promote healthy lifestyles. These programs include fitness classes, nutrition workshops, and recreational activities that encourage social interaction and wellness within the community.
