Mission Statement
The Home Possible Project is a Nonprofit organization with a mission to create supportive housing opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities. Our Mission is to create and provide residential options, servcies and support designed to meet the needs of adults with developmental disabilities and similar disabling conditions. We are dedicated to fostering growth and independence through vocational, social and recreational opportunities. Our goal is to proactively address an orderly transition of care for adults with developmental and similar disabilites from their aging family members to a stable, reliable, and caring environment that is sustainable over a lifetime. We plan to provide each individual with surroundings that are conducive to long-term friendships and a sense of well-being and self-worth.
About This Cause
The Home Possible Project is a nonprofit organization with a Mission to Create Supportive Housing Opportunities for Adults with Developmental Disabilities in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Approximately 70 percent of adults who experience a developmental disability live at home with family caregivers. Sixty percent of caregivers are between the ages of 55 and 74. There is a critical lack of housing options for adults with DD as family caregivers age and are no longer able to provide that support. We plan to acquire, preferably through donation, a suitable parcel of land in order to build affordable apartments for adults with developmental disabilities. Support staff will assist with daily living skills, food preparation, socialization, medications and health monitoring, recreational activities, and provide transportation so residents can fully access their community. Home Possible aims to provide a home where residents will continue to grow and thrive. This initiative addresses a critical need for supportive housing with services for adults with developmental disabilities. It will provide stable, caring housing options for individuals when their family members are no longer able to provide for their care. Together, we can create a brighter future for adults with developmental disabilities.
