Mission Statement
Tucker-Maxon combines children ( Pre-K through 5th Grade) who are hearing and children who are deaf in the same learning environment. Our students who are deaf do not use sign language; instead, with the help of hearing aids and cochlear implants, they listen, talk and learn with their typical hearing peers. We provide our students with valuable services and a special environment – highly qualified teachers, an on-site Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist, instruction in the use of hearing aids and implants, and early intervention for very young children. Our small classes (1:8 teacher to student) allow for individual attention. We offer art and music programs, PE class with a rock climbing wall, and an organic garden with chickens and goats.
