Mission Statement

To improve the lives of pets and people through sustainable programs of education, adoptions, and spay/neutering.

About This Cause

The Southern Oregon Humane Society is a private nonprofit organization founded in 1928. Our strategic areas of focus are to provide shelter and adoption services for displaced pets while reducing pet overpopulation through spay/neutering. SoHumane is a safe haven for people to surrender their cherished pets when they are no longer able to provide care. Our Saving Train program rescues dogs and cats that have run out of time and are facing euthanasia at overcrowded animal shelters. All of our dogs and cats are spayed or neutered before placement in a home. SoHumane provides volunteer and humane education opportunities for people of all ages. Each year over 1200 displaced pets find new homes through adoption.
