Mission Statement
The Beaverton Rotary Foundation is an independent charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Beaverton. Working in concert with the Club, the Foundation provides funding for projects designed to improve the lives of individuals and families in our community and around the world. The Foundation's mission is to: • Provide effective stewardship of Foundation assets; • Insure that all Foundation funds are expended in compliance with government regulations, member priorities and donor instructions; • Develop and implement effective procedures for coordinating Foundation funded programs with the club; • Work with the Club to increase member commitment to Foundation goals and programs.
About This Cause
The Beaverton Rotary Foundation funds a variety of service projects administered by Rotarians, including the following examples: • Vocational Scholarships: Selects students who are pursuing vocational careers and assists them with Rotary scholarships. • Continuing Education for Young Parents Scholarships: Ensures that young parents complete their high school education. • College Scholarships: Awards deserving high school senior candidates a scholarship to attend a college in Oregon. • Books for Kids: Helps less fortunate students purchase their own paperback books during their school’s book fair. • Dictionary Project: To improve literacy, provides a dictionary to every 4th grade student in the Beaverton School District. • Operation Warm Coats: Provides coats to children of low-income families. • Kinnaman Holiday Food Drive: Provides food to low-income families during the holiday season. • HomePlate Meals: Provides meals to homeless and displaced youth. • Rebuilding Together: Assists homeowners with financial or health issues by performing necessary maintenance work, such as outside painting, cleanup and minor repairs. • Beaverton Together: Promotes safe and drug-free lifestyles in Beaverton youth by sponsoring a multi-cultural basketball game for high school boys and girls. • Uganda Agriculture Project: Assists women in developing sustainable farming practices.
