Mission Statement
Enhance the Beaverton City Library’s impact by supporting expanded services and programs, increasing access to free books and media for underserved communities, promoting environmental stewardship through used media donations, and fostering connection and volunteerism.
About This Cause
We accomplish this mission by selling affordable, gently used books and audio-visual materials donated by the public at The Book Corner, the Friends of the Beaverton City Library’s used book store. Proceeds from these sales, our online stores, and other fundraising efforts are given to the Main Beaverton City Library and the Murray-Scholls Branch Library each year. We have committed to raising $100,000 for the libraries this year. These funds go towards supporting the purchase of library materials and equipment, facilty improvements, reading programs, artist competitions, public services, and staff training. In addition, we provide book and media donations to local nonprofts that support causes like foster youth, veterans, education, and our unhoused neighbors. We pride ourselves on being a community hub for customers and volunteers.
