About This Cause
Joyful Noise Child Development Centers, Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing high quality, affordable care to meet the diverse needs of the children and families who live or are employed in the Portland metropolitan area by basing it upon principles of best practices in childhood care, education and program management. Our ultimate goal is to convey significant, positive, and lasting benefits to the life of a child. Longitudinal studies and research shows that high-quality early childhood programs offer lasting positive results for children and communities, such as better readiness for school and higher rates of school graduation, better behavior in school, lower rates of crime, lower rates of teen pregnancy, less need for social services and higher rates of later employment. The research shows that these benefits are especially pronounced for children from low- income families. We must keep this affordable. “The promise of extraordinary human and financial return should motivate all of us – scientists, policymakers, and citizens – to keep striving to provide preschool programs of high quality to all young children living in poverty. To do any less is to shortchange the next generation and in doing so, to shortchange ourselves.” Programs face a fundamental quandary; they cannot improve/maintain quality without charging families higher fees or getting funds from elsewhere, which are very scarce. “For every dollar invested in early care and education, studies show the return to society is more than $16.” Please donate to fund our tuition assistance program, make better citizens of each child, and help us make a greater and better society.
