Mission Statement

Rebuilding Together Washington County is a non-profit housing rehabilitation organization whose mission is "Repairing Homes, Restoring Communities, and Revitalizing Lives". A preference is accorded to homeowners who are elderly, persons with disabilities, families with dependent children and veterans and their families.

About This Cause

Since 1993 this organization that is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together USA has been helping low and moderate income homeowners remain in their own homes by mobilizing volunteers from throughout the community to perform such tasks as repairing dry-rot, installing grab bars, building wheelchair ramps, repairing electrical issues that do not require a licensed electrician, plumbing repairs, etc. for homeowners who cannot do the work themselves or afford to hire it done. The staff consists of 1 part-time time executive director, a full-time program manager and project coordinator. A core group of approximately 10 skilled workers works on projects under the guidance of our program manager throughout the year. On the last Saturday in April 9-15 homes are repaired and rehabilitated by hundreds of volunteers recruited from the community. The organization assists between 40 to 50 homeowners each year. Funding sources include the City of Forest Grove, the Autzen Foundation, Citizens Bank,, individuals, and, fundraisers such as our recent crab feed and auction.
