Mission Statement
Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) creates and maintains healthy, sustainable housing with services for diverse residents, including families, seniors, and people with disabilities in Washington County and SW Portland.
About This Cause
Community Partners for Affordable Housing (CPAH) is dedicated to building quality affordable housing opportunities with services and programs in Washington County and SW Portland. We have been part of the local response to this growing need for 29 years. CPAH began as a small grassroots organization at St. Anthony's Church in Tigard and has since expanded its reach to grow our impact. We now serve all of Washington County from Hillsboro to Beaverton, as well as SW Portland. CPAH’s specialty is that we are committed to this place in particular. Our home is here, and we want everyone to be housed with access to life-affirming services so that we all thrive together. Our areas of work include: Building Housing: CPAH has ten apartment communities with 460 units and six houses. Additionally, we are renovating The Joyce Hotel in downtown Portland and developing 4.6 acres in Tualatin that will become 116 units of family housing. Additionally, we don’t just build housing, we manage it into the future. Currently, CPAH serves over 800 residents. Resident Services: Over the last three years our Resident Services Program has expanded from youth and senior community programs to include eviction prevention and housing stabilization to assist our residents in staying housed. CPAH is also providing permanent supportive housing – a model that supports the most vulnerable, people who have been homeless and need additional services. CPAH is now expanding into employment support, as well. Community Engagement: CPAH takes its role as a Washington County Community Development Housing Organization (CDHO) seriously. As part of being a CDHO, CPAH is deeply involved in multiple planning processes within Washington and SW Portland. At this time, our attention is focused on the SW Light Rail Corridor Project and the importance of equitable development and anti-displacement investments. CPAH has also been at the table as part of Here Together, the metro wide homeless and housing services initiative that passed this year, and we will be part of its implementation, as well. CHDO’s are also required to have a third of their board be low income or live in a low income community.
