The mission of The People's Nonprofit Accelerator is to serve people raising funds for nonprofit organizations by linking them with others in the development community and providing affordable opportunities for their professional growth and education.
About This Cause
The People’s Nonprofit Accelerator was formerly WVDO (Willamette Valley Development Officers), founded in 1977 by Portland-based nonprofit fundraisers. They aimed to build a more collaborative, effective sector by sharing skills, resources, and connections. For 48 years, we’ve driven nonprofit success in Oregon and Southwest Washington, equipping professionals with knowledge and networks for lasting impact. We provide virtual training in fundraising, leadership, and grant writing, along with responsive, member-informed programming rooted in diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. We envision a future where all people work together to dismantle systems that profit from oppression. Committed to accessibility, we prioritize greater opportunities for BIPOC, marginalized individuals, and grassroots organizations to expand their resources and leadership in the nonprofit sector.
