Salem Parks Foundation works to enhance, improve and advocate for the parks of Salem, Oregon
About This Cause
Salem Parks Foundation was established in 2000 by concerned citizens of Salem, Oregon who felt that existing funding for the parks of Salem, Oregon was inadequate and as a consequence, parks were not meeting the needs of Salem, Oregon residents. Our mission is to raise money and awareness for the improvement of our parks and increased use and enjoyment of our parks. Salem Parks Foundation strongly feels that beautiful and well maintained parks are an asset to the community and are important to the health and happiness of our community residents. We have been and remain an all volunteer organization. We like to say "Every Penny goes to Parks" and be able to tell our donors that 100% of their contribution goes to our mission. We are currently working to raise funds for the restoration of the Eco-Earth Globe in Riverfront Park, an iconic artwork celebrating the Earth with its peoples and creatures living in harmony, peace and health. The art work was a grass roots effort, conceived and completed by the community and presented to the City of Salem in 2003. It has fallen into disrepair and the Salem Parks Foundation is working toward its restoration.
