Mission Statement
HerArt Foundation utilizes the universal language of art to address social issues and advocate for marginalized groups, including domestic violence survivors and Asian American immigrant communities. Viewing artists as visual historians, we capture and preserve contemporary moments, focusing on Asian American histories in the United States. Through exhibitions, mentorship, and community service, we aim to create a safe place for people to share stories and empathize with each other. Our short-term goal is to recruit AAPI female artists to amplify our collective voice, while our long-term goal is to build an extensive archive of their works and document the stories of AAPI women's lives.
About This Cause
Founded in 2023 in Chicago, Illinois, HerArt Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating under the mission of "Advocating through Art." With AAPI female artists at its core, HerArt Foundation advocates for domestic violence survivors and immigrant communities. Donations support administrative tasks, ensuring the organization’s sustainability, and fund a mentorship program that integrates into the education system to foster a safe environment for future generations. Additionally, donations enable exhibitions of AAPI female artists addressing social issues and workshops for community members to share stories and resources. Run by female Asian American artists and volunteers, HerArt Foundation collaborates with other non-profits for broader reach and impact.
