Our vision is a strong ecosystem of next generation artists, storytellers, and patrons transforming communities for shared prosperity through creative placemaking.
About This Cause
COVEN is a creative placemaking accelerator that supports monumental art for societal change. Our mission is to amplify the sidelined voices of women, BIPOC, and immigrants, and activate the Third Places where entrepreneurial creatives connect, learn, and co-create for social agency and economic mobility. COVEN is structured as a nested ecosystem for artists to access art placement opportunities, project funding, affordable workspaces, talent, and support. COVEN Third Place network includes 8 makerspaces and community hubs in the San Francisco Bay Area, which together host 400 community events, display 175 large-scale artworks, and represent nearly 3,000 artists. Strategic partners include Illuminate, Arts CO.LAB, Building 180, and Five Ton Crane. Our vision is a strong ecosystem of next generation artists, storytellers, and patrons transforming communities for shared prosperity through creative placemaking.
