Mission Statement
Hebrew Free Loan supports Jewish residents of Northern California to overcome financial challenges and realize lifelong dreams by providing interest-free loans. By offering loans rather than charity, Hebrew Free Loan helps people become, and remain, self-sufficient—while maintaining their dignity. We currently have approximately $8 million circulating throughout the Northern California Jewish community representing nearly 1,000 interest-free loans. In addition to serving the Jewish community, in 2014 we launched our Nonsectarian Student Loan Program, which provides inerest-free loans, on a nonsectarian basis, to students from low-income families pursuing college education.
About This Cause
Each person we have help has a unique need. We've helped parents who want to adopt a child or have expensive fertility treatments and start a family. We've helped individuals and families get through a periods of unemployment or overcome crippling debt. We've helped students to cope with increased tuition and reduced Federal grants. Hebrew Free Loan is the only agency in the Bay Area that makes interest-free and cost-free loans. We help members of the Jewish community realize their dreams. Loan categories include: Special Needs; Student; Debt Consolidation; Recently Unemployed; First-time Home Buyer; Lifecycle, Business, Personal; Jewish Organizations; Emergency; Health Care; and more.
