Mission Statement
Bellarmine College Preparatory is a community of men and women gathered together by God for the purpose of educating the student to seek justice and truth throughout his life. We are a Catholic school in the tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola, the Founder of the Society of Jesus. As such, our entire school program is dedicated to forming "men for and with others" - persons whose lives will be dedicated to bringing all their God-given talents to fullness and to living according to the pattern of service inaugurated by Jesus Christ.
About This Cause
Bellarmine College Preparatory is a Catholic secondary educational institution operating in the Jesuit tradition of the development of the full person. The school, located in San Jose, California, and founded in 1851, provides an education rooted in the teachings of Saint Ignatius of Loyola. The school strives to provide fair economic access to families of qualified students through affordable tuition and tuition assistance, and endeavors to form young men who will be contemplatives in action: young men who will be actively engaged in service as a response to God’s love, and who will critically and prayerfully reflect upon how best to put their talents at the service of others. The unique educational experience involves a rigorous curriculum, expansive co-curricular opportunities, a vibrant spirituality and comprehensive Christian Service and Immersion programs. These essential components result in the foundation of a young man who is committed to a life of reflection and prayer, who seeks challenges to enhance his on-going formation, who accepts responsibility and leadership, and who desires to care for those in need.
