Mission Statement
Our Daily Bread serves hot nutritious meals to those in need, with dignity and respect and without qualification. Meals are provided regularly to all men, women and children who come in the hope that with nourishment each diner may find the physical, spiritual and emotional support he or she needs. Our Daily Bread is a community-supported outreach program of the St. Thomas Episcopal Church, staffed by volunteers and funded largely by private contributions.
About This Cause
Our Daily Bread (ODB) is a non-profit community-supported outreach program of St. Thomas Episcopal Church that serves needy people in the area. It is staffed by one part time program director and more than 100 volunteers from the local community. Individuals, churches, businesses, service clubs and other organizations contribute regularly to the program. Since its founding in 1983, ODB has never missed a serving day. ODB currently serves over 250 diners per day. Our Daily Bread serves free hot meals three days a week to hungry people without qualification or restriction. Participation in the program is the same for everyone without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation or disability. Serving hours are Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
