Mission Statement

Healing yesterday's wounds, preventing tomorrow's. The WSCFF Burn Foundation focuses on the prevention and education of burn injuries, improving burn survivors quality of life through research and care, and providing a summer camp for young burn survivors.

About This Cause

The WSCFF Burn Foundation has been around since 1982. As firefighters, we have seen the traumatic results of fires and burns. We are focused on the education and prevention of burn injuries. We provided scald kits to new families to help educate them on how quickly hot liquids can hurt skin. We have a program to help local fire departments provide smoke detectors in their community. We sponsor a week long summer camp for young burn survivors, age 7-17. And we offer a family liaison for emergency personnel who suffer a burn injury to assist their families through the hospital treatments and getting back to life. One of our new programs is visiting burn victims at Harborview Medical Center; we can share resources, coordinate a meet with a burn survivor and help with daily living once they leave the hospital.
