Mission Statement
Nihonmachi Little Friends (NLF) is a Japanese bilingual, multicultural and educational childcare organization, established in October 1975. It provides programs for preschoolers through elementary school-age children (K-5th gr.)
About This Cause
NLF provides fee subsidies for low to moderate income families serving a diverse population of children. Its preschool-age programs run full year with both full time and part time schedules, open from 7:30am-5:30pm. Daily meals (breakfast, lunch and 2 snacks), in-depth studies, and weekly fieldtrips are part of the schedule. NLF's school-age program runs during the school year from 1-6:00pm, providing nutritious snacks, cooking projects, homework assistance, and enhancement projects which promote critical thinking skills with an in-depth study approach. Japanese language and an understanding and respect for diversity are incorporated into all of NLF's daily programs.
