ROSEVILLE, California, 95678-1465 United States

Mission Statement

Placer SPCA's mission is to enhance the lives of companion animals and support the human-animal bond.

About This Cause

For 50 years, the Placer SPCA has reunited lost pets with their owners, enabled struggling families and individuals to keep their pets when times are tough, and matched homeless pets with those searching for a companion. In its early years, the Placer SPCA operated without a shelter, working solely out of a small office in Auburn. Then managed entirely by volunteers, hundreds of unwanted and abused animals were placed in foster homes until a permanent family could be found. Today, the Placer SPCA is the largest and most comprehensive animal welfare provider in Placer County. As a critically needed not-for-profit organization, the Placer SPCA shelters approximately 4,000 homeless animals annually and assists scores more through a variety of programs and services aimed at enhancing the lives of companion animals and supporting the human-animal bond.
