Mission Statement
Our mission is to ease and end the crisis of homelessness in our communities. We believe everyone has the right to affordable housing and healthy food to eat. Every day, we advocate for and partner with individuals and families experiencing housing and food insecurity. Because when everyone in our community has a place to call home and enough food to eat, we all benefit.
About This Cause
At Insight Housing, our core values are equity, diversity, inclusion, community, and transparency. We are committed to serving one of the most vulnerable populations in our community with fairness and dignity. Founded in Berkeley in 1970, Insight Housing is now operational in six Northern CA counties; Alameda, Contra Costa, Solano, Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Amador. Insight Housing serves nearly 3,000 clients per year through a variety of services including interim housing, permanent supportive housing, rapid rehousing, homeless prevention, and meals. Ending homelessness and food insecurity directly uplifts communities of color, LGBTQ communities, and other marginalized groups. We believe in science and thus all our programs are evidence-based and backed by research, statistics, and data. We believe that housing and food are human rights. We always meet clients exactly where they are, with compassion and without judgement. We empower each client as the primary agent for improving their own well-being.
