Mission Statement

Community Concern for Cats is an all volunteer non-profit cat rescue organization founded in October 1986 by citizens in Contra Costa County, California concerned with the growing number of abandoned and colonized cats. Our organization rescues cats and kittens directly from garbage dumpsters, storm drains, corporate yards, foreclosed homes and other places where abandon cats live, hide and reproduce.

About This Cause

Community Concern for Cats (CC4C), a nonprofit 501(c)3 serving Contra Costa County has been rescuing cats directly from the streets for over 25 years, and as with most not for profits, finding funding is often difficult. Our mission is to spay or neuter homeless and free roaming cats to prevent feline overpopulation. In 2015, we spayed or neutered over 2,000 cats. We provide other needed medical through our CC4C Cat Hospital and operate three adoption sites finding forever homes for those cats we can socialize. In 2023, we adopted 1,034 cats to their forever homes. In 2023, we spayed/neutered and provided other medical to over 3,500 cats. In addition, our members and volunteers feed and monitor hundreds of spayed and neutered cats in feral colonies throughout Contra Costa County at their own expense.
