The Monroe Historical Society seeks to preserve and share the history of Monroe, Washington and to inspire an appreciation of its heritage

About This Cause

The Monroe Historical Society was founded in 1976. It opened its museum in 1982 in Monroe's original brick City Hall Building at 207 E. Main Street. The all-volunteer organization hosts the Shannahan Cabin during the annual Evergreen State Fair, hosts school field trips and participates in many other community events and activities. The society is dependent upon membership dues, fundraisers, donations and grants for operation. New members and volunteers are always welcome and all donations are tax deductible.
