THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY TRAIL PROJECT

San Francisco, California, 94145-0801 United States

Mission Statement

The San Francisco Bay Trail is a visionary plan for a continuous 500-mile hiking and bicycling trail along the shoreline of San Francisco Bay.

About This Cause

The San Francisco Bay Trail Project plans, promotes and advocates for implementation of the Bay Trail network. When complete, the Bay Trail will extend over 500 miles to link the shoreline of nine counties, passing through 47 cities and crossing seven toll bridges. Over 355 miles exist today. The Bay Trail is a collaboration between elected officials, government agencies, private companies, non-profit organizations, advocacy groups and the public to increase access to the edge of the bay. Funding is needed to complete the remaining gaps in the regional trail system.
