Mission Statement
The Giants Community Fund uses baseball and softball to promote health, education, and character development to propel youth in underserved regions to be positive forces in their communities.
About This Cause
The Fund, a 501(c)(3) public charity, is managed by a volunteer Board of Directors and sustained by contributions from individuals, businesses and foundations through a number of special partnerships and fundraisers. Our flagship program, Junior Giants, is a free, noncompetitive and coed baseball and softball program that teaches life skills to over 23,000 youth annually. Children are also reached through Junior Giants Schools, Play Ball Events and Willie Mays Scholars. Since its inception in 1991, the Fund has donated over $40 million to community efforts. The Giants Community Fund is honored that the Junior Giants program was chosen as the 2015 recipient of the Commissioner's Award for Philanthropic Excellence. The award was created in 2010 to recognize the charitable and philanthropic efforts of MLB Clubs.
