Mission Statement
The Taylor Family Foundation (TTFF) is committed to preserving the wellness and enhancing the quality of life for children in Northern California with life-threatening and chronic illnesses, developmental disabilities and youth at-risk through unique therapeutic experiences and support.
About This Cause
TTFF has the following central goals for its programs: For every kid that we serve to have the chance to just have fun and be a kid, at no charge to their families. To operate a supportive and nurturing environment that provides children we serve with the much needed respite from ongoing struggles, thereby promoting longevity, hope, and quality of life. To improve the self-esteem of every child served, through education, one-on-one counseling, and through exposure to activities not regularly available to them. To keep the families and communities together throughout the longevity of the ailment or disability, even in the instance that the child living with a life-threatening illness passes away. To serve a minimum of 100 children and teenagers with HIV/AIDS to stay connected with where our foundation began its mission more than 30 years ago. To alleviate the burden on families who are experiencing a medical crisis, strengthening the family infrastructure when a child falls seriously ill. Based on these goals and more than 30 years of experience serving children affected with life threatening and chronic illnesses, disabilities and youth at risk, TTFF expects the following outcomes: Children go forward with independence, confidence and trust, having been surrounded by a community of peers with similar challenges and caring adults who have unconditionally encouraged, accepted, and supported them. Children are empowered to reach beyond their perceived limitations. Children, teenagers and family members will learn valuable information about caring for the particular condition and specifically, how to get the most out of their lives while still managing their circumstances. Families and caretakers get a time of respite. Children and their families develop lasting network of positive relationships During a crisis families remain focused on what is most important, the child, without worrying about how they will provide basic needs.
