We are an all volunteer community arts organization providing a place for creative doings like art classes, poetry and writing, bi-monthly exhibits, and lectures on art.
About This Cause
The Frank Bette Center for the Arts is a community arts organization located in our own Victorian building in Alameda CA. Our mission is to provide a place where artists in many fields can expand their creativity. We have gallery exhibits for emerging and established artists that change every two months. We have classes in a variety of visual arts, writing and music. We provide space for a number of groups to meet, such as the Alameda Island Poets and a life drawing group. We sponsor a city wide photography event called Alameda on Camera, A yearly city wide Plein Air Painting event that attracts artists from around the USA, as well as sending artists with grants to paint or take photographs out of the area. Although we encourage membership it is not required to participate in most of our activities.
