Mission Statement

The Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control (FSFACC) is the only nonprofit organization dedicated to raising funds for the city's municipal, open-door animal shelter, San Francisco Animal Care and Control (SFACC), and its partnering adoption groups, in order to establish or enhance programs of human welfare, comfort and placement, public service and humane education.

About This Cause

Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control (Friends) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation, established in 2000 and dedicated to raising funds for the San Francisco municipal animal shelter SFACC and its rescue partners in order to enhance or establish programs and services that benefit animals and serve and educate the public. Friends’ contributions to SFACC augment, rather than replace, funding provided by the City budget, to enhance and broaden SFACC services. The common purpose Friends shares with SFACC is the delivery of effective, courteous and responsive animal care and control services to San Francisco’s human residents and the provision of effective, respectful and humane treatment and care to San Francisco’s stray, injured, abandoned, neglected, and mistreated animals.
