Momentum's mission is to advance the independence, productivity, and full citizenship of children and adults with disabilities and medical conditions.
About This Cause
The time for change is now. The way people talk and think about disabilities has evolved since 1945 when our organization was founded. For more than 75 years, as United Cerebral Palsy of Los Angeles, we have dedicated our resources to providing services to maximize independence. Society must start recognizing the needs and desires people have for inclusion. Disability rights are human rights. For too long, inclusion equity for people with disabilities has gone unnoticed in communities. As Momentum, we continue to dedicate ourselves to supporting children, adults, and their families. We are constantly innovating to provide a wide range of services that can be tapped into by people and their families. We offer support choices so people can use resources that best fit their needs. Our staff, nurses, and Direct Support Professionals offer unsurpassed care and dedication. Our new service line, Momentum Refresh (www.MomentumRefresh.org), is advancing the idea of accessibility with a quality mobile restroom that can go to anywhere. 1 in 7 people in the U.S. have a disability that impacts their mobility. An ADA compliant restroom is not sufficient for all people with mobility limitations. Momentum Refresh provides an innovative solution that is the first of its kind for restroom equity at public venues that is safe, sanitary, and comfortable for assisted changing.
