About This Cause
St. Anne’s mission is to build brighter futures for individuals we serve. We provide quality, comprehensive services to low-income, at-risk families. Founded in 1908 as a safe refuge for unwed, pregnant young women, St. Anne’s began focusing on pregnant and parenting girls from the foster care and juvenile probation systems in 1992. These girls, young women and their children – some of the most abused, abandoned, neglected and challenged young women and children in Los Angeles County – are still a central part of St. Anne’s mission. We provide a safe home for them on our campus as well as the supportive services they need to thrive. We also care for their babies aged 0-5 with a robust early childhood education program. In recent years, we have responded to the needs in our community by expanding to offer similar high-quality comprehensive services to those outside of our residential programs – always with the same goal of strengthening struggling families. In 2014, we assisted more than 1,150 young women, children and families.
