About This Cause
ECS provides health and human services in the areas of homelessness, mental health, substance use disorder treatment, and early childhood education to nearly 7,000 clients in San Diego through the following programs: "Para Las Familias" provides a range of bilingual early childhood mental health services to low-income children age 18 months to age 12. Early Head Start focuses on children from birth to three years of age, as well as pregnant and postpartum women. Comprehensive services include parenting classes, individualized plans for children and transition services for children moving onto preschool. Head Start provides comprehensive early childhood education and services to children ages 3 – 5 years of age. Central East Regional Recovery Center (CERRC) provides outpatient substance use disorder treatment services to adults and transition-age youth. ACCORD is a California-licensed program for any individuals arrested for or convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics. Uptown Safe Haven is a residential facility that provides transitional housing and supportive services to chronically homeless single adults with moderate to severe mental health issues. C-HRT (Community Harm Reduction Team) Safe Haven provides a safe and supportive space for individuals referred by Family Health Centers who deal with chronic homelessness, substance use disorders, and mental illnesses.
