United Way of Greater Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California, 90015-2482 United States

Mission Statement

United Way fights poverty by addressing its root causes and provides long-term solutions through the vehicles of three pillars of work: Economic Mobility, Education, and Housing. United Way of Greater Los Angeles brings together leaders across sectors, builds community and forges coalitions to end poverty in Los Angeles. We both respond to the most immediate needs on the ground and create the space for innovation and the political will necessary for the long-term changes that will build a more equitable Los Angeles. While United Way still holds combating poverty as our mandate, we are evolving. We are growing bolder in our vision for a more equitable Los Angeles County for all. We are centering our mission and work around racial equity and justice. We are expanding our strategies as advocates to serve our most vulnerable neighbors. We strive to activate Angelenos to use their collective voices to help us make this vision reality.

About This Cause

Our mission is to permanently break the cycle of poverty for our most vulnerable neighbors: families, children, veterans and the homeless.
