Mission Statement
Kentwood Players is a nonprofit theatre group dedicated to enriching, educating and entertaining our community through the transformative power of live theatre while creating an environment for inspiring human potential.
About This Cause
For more than 75 years, the Kentwood Players have brought high quality entertainment at reasonable prices to the delight and the enrichment of our audiences. From musicals to dramas to comedies our productions have run the gamut of culturally diverse and thought-provoking productions including those designed for our children. Our membership is open to the entire community, and we welcome everyone regardless of their experience or background including actors, directors, set designers, costume designers, backstage crew, facility support, house managing, ushering, and anyone who wants to lend a hand in any capacity. Plus, membership is very reasonably priced making it affordable to get involved, and anyone who joins is entitled to see six productions throughout the season at no additional cost as a benefit of membership. Our productions have included Ragtime, The Little Mermaid, Clybourne Park, Raisin in the Sun, A Midnight’s Summer’s Dream, The Little Foxes, Avenue Q, Charlotte’s Web, Mousetrap, The Miracle Worker, Barefoot in the Park, The Odd Couple, Proof, A Chorus Line, Fun Home, Pippin, 9 to 5, All My Sons and too many more to mention. Our membership meetings are open to the public and are held in person on the third Wednesday of every month and anyone can join on zoom to participate as well. We invite anyone who is interested to audition for our productions. Our auditions are advertised on our Facebook page, our website—kentwoodplayers.org, on Broadway World and in Backstage. Many of our members have been part of our Kentwood community for twenty-five years or more and some are just starting with us. Regardless, we welcome their input, their suggestions, and their support. Kentwood Players is a 501(c)(3) organization.
